Manager of Desktop Services | Apply Online
CEI is seeking a Manager of Desktop Services who will be responsible for the Day-to-Day Desktop Services operation for our Client. This person will plan, develop and implement information systems and technology consistent with our Clien’ts business and systems strategies. The Manager, Desktop Services is also responsible for developing and maintaining Helpdesk related systems and structure.
- Assemble multiple technologies to deliver systems and services that meet office business needs.
- Manage ongoing operation and support for company's systems and services and counsel with staff to define business problems and/or opportunities.
Examples of Work Performed - Responsible for directing the efforts of small business teams including assignment and management of specific tasks.
- Provide input to Director regarding office staff performance reviews and skills development programs.
- Manages the identification, definition, development, schedule, evaluation, structure and execution of technical projects.
- Monitors project compliance with established company standards
- Establishes the project team structure and identifies the skills required for successful project completion.
- Trains new and existing personnel on technical skills, product and personal development.
- Identifies and evaluates competitive alternatives for meeting business information needs in target area.
- Confer with senior management and staff to define business problems and/or opportunities and identify alternatives to apply information systems and technology solutions.
- Lead the evaluation, testing and installation of systems, services and technologies, which can include:
- Prototyping and testing hardware, software and services; developing office technology standards.
- Work with vendors to procure new technology systems, services, guidance and support.
- Manage ongoing operation and support of select systems and services.
- Support the implementation of internal business systems.
- Keep current with alternative information systems and technology and make recommendations consistent with the company's business and systems strategies.
- Develop and maintain technology guidelines, operating procedures and end-user documentation.
Qualifications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience.
- Five to seven years experience in information systems and a Minimum two years project management and supervisory experience.
- Good communications skills, both written and oral.
- Strong interpersonal skill, with the ability to work with many levels of management
- High analytical ability to manage multiple technologies and complex projects.
- Experienced working with vendor teams and contractors.
- Moderate level of travel.
